Two Dog
Woman
Two-dog
woman gets round the block much quicker.
Now
one dog has departed, her journey is far slicker.
She used to bounce between them, ping-pong to her bats
Now a near redundant piper, she's running out of rats.
Her single remaining companion has a heavy, burdened stride
Drained of his light paw patter by a cruel caninicide.
A burglar took their friend, along with sixty quid
One beast raced to repel him, the other nervous hid.
She wishes they both were cowards, escorts for the stroll
And yet loves neither better, both actions leave a hole.
Trailed by a yellow quadruped, she paces out the hurt
Longing for the black hero, who'd wander and divert.
